Cute roadside stand alert

I snapped this picture on Route 9G, near the intersection of Route 199 in Red Hook.

Bubby's Burritos serves rice and bean burritos and cheese quesadillas with all the fixins for cheap out of a Trillium 1300 trailer decorated with potted plants.

The owners split their time between their stand in Red Hook and their restaurant in Mexico.

Try it on your next trip to Bard College or Tivoli.

And if you do, let me know what you think.

My husband and I shouted for joy as we drove past this, our favorite burrito stand. Well, make that the only one we know around here!

Yummy guac and burritos big enough to split with a friend.

Hey Kerri,

How many years have you been stopping at Bubby's?

Yum -- Bubby's burritos! Joe Mure, a good person and talented chef who taught at the CIA until he died (much too young) a few years ago, was the first person who told me about Bubby’s. Joe had a talent for finding great places to eat and Bubby's food was (is) simple but very well prepared. When I was putting together the Valley Table 5th anniversary special issue in 2003, I made sure to include a profile of Bubby's in our list of favorite foodie places in the valley. "Bubby" (who grew up in northern Dutchess County) and Rodrigo are an adorable couple, and this year the baby is with them!

(Hmm, the above post wasn't supposed to be deleted. I don't care much for this blogger software...)

Yea -- but how does the food taste? I haven't seen a good burrito place since they closed the Latchis Burrito Exchange in Brattleboro many years back
